  1.           ===== Utilities for use with the .COL/.IDX Files =====

  3.   Several utilities now exist that read the columnar filename list (the
  4.   HACK????.COL and/or HACK????.IDX file, where ???? is the same year/month
  5.   as that used in the filename of The Hack Report).  Some of these will
  6.   also work with the new .IDX format file, which will replace the .COL
  7.   format in January, 1994.

  9.   These files perform different functions, so you might want to experiment
  10.   with each to find the one that suits your needs as either a SysOp or as a
  11.   BBS User.

  13.   This list is by no means complete:  there are possibly more out there,
  14.   but these are just some that I am aware of.  If I have left any programs
  15.   out, please contact me and let me know.

  45.   All .COL and .IDX file utilities are available via F'Req or download from
  46.   1:3805/13 (NightShift, Jack Cross, SysOp), at (817) 855-1526. Downloads
  47.   of these files are available of the first call. No F'Reqs or downloads
  48.   during FidoNet ZMH, please.
